What Color Suit Should I Buy?

What color suit(s) should I buy to start my business wardrobe? Building a business wardrobe takes time to develop. Few people can make the decision to build a proper business wardrobe and have the funds available to implement it. Therefore, it is important for the purchaser of men’s suits to understand what makes up a complete wardrobe, but also to understand what the top priorities should be.
The suits you purchase first in building a wardrobe should always be year-round tropical weight suits, as you will get more use out of them. Do NOT purchase summer weight or winter weight fabrics until you have the initial basics covered. The 4 basics suits that every man should own in their closet should be a:
* Navy Solid
* Navy Pinstripe
* Charcoal Solid
* Charcoal or Grey Pinstripe
The next purchases can then be variations of the following:
* Black & White Glen Plaid
* Blue – Grey
* Black & White Hounds tooth
* Tan Solid
* Olives or Browns
* Windowpanes – Navy or Grey
If you wear a suit 4 or 5 days/week the ideal wardrobe would consist of a 2-3 week (10-15 suits) rotation of suits in your closet. Your suits will last longer overall, if you have a good rotation of suits, so that you are not wearing and cleaning your suits constantly. Men’s suits should be cleaned only once/quarter – as the dry cleaning chemicals can shorten the life of your suits. If your suits start to lose their shape or your pants lose their crease – go ahead and have your suit pressed, but don’t have your suits dry cleaned more than once a quarter.
As you add additional suits to your rotation, you can then consider different season suits, such as wool flannel for fall/winter and silk/wool and linen blends for spring/summer. However, in the beginning you should always select year round weight suits, as they will be more versatile for your wardrobe.

Men’s Dress Raincoats: Look Great And Stay Dry

Are you searching for a men’s dress raincoat? Men’s dress raincoats are offered in several styles, sizes, lengths and fabrics. Dress raincoats can keep you dry and warm while being stylish, they don’t have to look like the slept-in look of Lieutenant Columbo.
Dress raincoats are great for a stylish gentleman, but they can be also highly functional. Dress raincoats are made of fabrics that are water repellent and very lightweight, along with providing warmth against the elements. Many fabrics are offered in the men’s dress raincoats including: cotton, leather, nylon, polyester (microfibers), twills and even lambskin!

Because of the technologies that continue to evolve in the outerwear industry, today’s dress raincoats offer an abundance of very unique features. Fabrics that wick the moisture away from the body and create significant warmth, while keeping you dry. Fabrics that are waterproof, windproof and light weight.
Today’s dress raincoats also offer lots of great bells and whistles. Most of the raincoats offer a removable interlining, some offer a lining that is removable, but have a vest that can be worn independently when removed from the coat. Therefore, you have the option of wearing the raincoat with the liner inside for warmth or wearing the vest by itself.
Some of the coats offer a cell phone pocket with an electromagnetic shielding textile that protects the wearer's body from the electromagnetic waves. Some offer lots of great extra pockets options like scarf pockets, an extra inside security pocket with a zipper closure to store valuables, and a book pocket. Some offer a choice of a belt (on or off), and some even offer a hidden hood.

Men’s dress raincoats can be worn by teenagers to older executives. Many of the coats are offered in suit sizes, so it would not be unusual to find many of the coats offered in sizes from 38 Short to 52 Long. Of course, if you are going to wear the coat over a suit jacket, remember to allow extra space in the raincoat when you try it on to compensate for the suit jacket. There can also be several color choices available, as well. Colors available such as tan, khaki, olive, taupe, black, brown, and additional colors, as well.
The possibilities in finding the right men’s dress raincoat are limitless, just figure out what features are important to you in your search for your raincoat.

Should you Consider Buying A Men’s Suit On the Internet?

We live in a world where the greatest commodity that most people are lacking is: time (or lack thereof). Most of us never seem to have enough time to do all the things that we want to do. Most of us simply don’t have the time to go shopping and if we do have the time – we often find it to be more of a frustrating experience than it’s worth! The stores are often over-crowded and you can’t find anyone to assist you, and they often don’t have the size that you need in that certain color/pattern. So, why do we shop this way? Because our ancestors did? Well, today’s smart, modern shopper does not have to or want to!

Why not consider doing your suit shopping on the Internet? First, you can shop anytime (2 A.M. in your bathrobe) of the day – you are not limited to inconvenient store hours. You can shop 24 / 7, including all holidays. The store never closes! Now that’s convenient!

Second, the pricing online is often sharper than most retail stores. The companies that sell on the Internet don’t maintain the expensive overhead that retail stores do, so they are able to offer sharper price points than many retail stores. Therefore, the customer is often able to find the same manufacturer’s suit online for less money.

Third, the selection on the Internet is often better! Most online retailers are able to offer a wider selection of choices to their customers because they are not limited by the square footage of their stores. Most retail stores can only afford to carry the very best selling sizes. If you are an odd size or big and tall – you will be out of luck most of the time, shopping in your local retail store. The retail stores have to always be concerned with maximizing their return on investment for their square footage. Internet retailers do not suffer the same limitations. Therefore, you will probably find more colors, patterns and sizes available online, than in your local store. Also, you don’t have to worry about that certain size being unavailable. If a store does not have your size, they may be able to find your size for you, but that requires another trip to the store by you, to pick up your size. More time lost, for you to get what you want. If you order on the Internet, you get what you want the first time, with much less hassle.

Of course, not only can you find men’s suits online, but you can also find tuxedos, men’s custom suits, men’s custom shirts, men’s shoes, casual clothing and accessories, as well. Finding the right look for you, is just a couple of clicks away and much more convenient and hassle free.

Customer service is even easier on the internet. Most Internet retailers often offer a toll free #, instant chat or e-mail contact that makes it easy to answer your questions. You will also be assured of finding someone who is more knowledgeable about men’s clothing than that 16 year old kid working at your local store. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, because an Internet retailer will often be more helpful than your local store, as well. The customer service is often more friendly and knowledgeable online, than at your local store, as well.

Dress Your Best When Interviewing

One of the main purposes of an interview is to present yourself to a potential employer in a manner that reflects a highly polished and professional image. It is important to keep in mind that the interview is not the time to be making a personal statement with the way you dress. The potential employer is NOT interested in seeing your selection of Grateful Dead Ties or purple dress shirts! Keep it professional!

Yes! It makes a difference how you dress for an interview! Rule # 1 (on what to wear to an interview):
You ONLY have 1 chance to make a good first impression!! How you dress matters!
Have you heard the story relayed by a recruiter who interviewed a gentleman for a sales position within his organization? The recruiter tells the story how the candidate had been out of work for a few months and wanted the recruiter to understand why. The candidate took off his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt and started to pull down his pants (this is a true story) to show him the scar from a boat propeller that had injured him. He didn't get the job. Neither did the young lady in a bright red skirt so short and tight that she could hardly sit down! In a conservative business climate or a challenging economy, appearance matters.
Dress your best for the interview, even if you think it is a casual work environment. If you are in doubt about how to dress for an interview, err on the side of conservatism. It is much better to be overdressed than underdressed or not dressed at all (in the case of the red skirt). The major contributing factor that helps a person draw an opinion on someone after meeting them, is based on how you look (or how they perceive you look).
A famous tennis player (Andre Agassi) said: Image is Everything!!
We have listed some helpful dressing hints for you to wear to an interview:
• Well tailored, solid color (dark-navy or charcoal), conservative suit –solid or subtle stripe – NO bold stripes that stand out. Remember: Don’t Make a Statement!
• Black, polished shoes with laces
• White or off white long sleeve shirt
• Conservative tie (small neat pattern or stripe)
• Dark socks
• Very limited jewelry
• Neat, professional hairstyle
• Go easy on the cologne
• Neatly trimmed nails
• Portfolio or briefcase
• Big smile and firm handshake!
In summary, think about the image that you want to convey. You want to convey the image of someone who will fit in and become a team member, as opposed to someone who will stand out as an individual. You want to appear confident, conservative, reliable, and polished. The way you dress can greatly enhance your portrayal of these qualities. Present a positive image and you will “shine” in the interview. Good Luck!!

What to wear to a wedding?

Dressing for a wedding or special event - it is important to be properly dressed for any special occasion. Remember, just like an interview: you ONLY have 1 chance to make a good first impression! Don’t be too creative to stand out! Pictures will be taken at the wedding, and you don’t want to look at your friend’s pictures a year from now and wonder: What was I thinking (dressed like that)?
• Informal Daytime: Dress shirt and pants, preferably a sports jacket.
• Informal Evening: Suit
• Semi-Formal Daytime: Suit
• Semi-Formal Evening: Dark suit
• Formal Daytime: Dark suit and tie
• Formal Evening: Tuxedo (if invitation states "black tie") or dark suits.
• Ultra-formal Evening or White Tie: White tie, cummerbund or vest and shirt.
Do's and Don'ts
• Don't try to be experimental with a tuxedo. A black tuxedo with white shirt and black bow tie or four in hand tie is always the best choice. If "Creative Black Tie" is used on the invitation, then wearing a tuxedo, vest and black shirt, with no tie, might be acceptable. Also, trendier cities like Los Angeles and New York might be more accepting of going with a trendier look.
• Wear a dark suit, with a tie if the wedding is after 6 PM, and doesn't say "Black Tie."
• Don't wear a tuxedo during the day time, regardless of the formality of the event.
• Do use a conservative outfit, if the invitation doesn't specify a dress code for the event. A dark suit and conservative tie will be appropriate for any occasion.
